The band took first for drumming and second overall at Shotts Highland Games on the 6th of June, the band also played well in both Grade 2 and Grade 3, narrowly just missing out on a prize in Grade 2. The band is now looking forward to the British championships in Banbridge in Northern Ireland on the 27th of June, where they are hoping to win some silverware to add to the cabinet.

The band took a 4th overall at Grade 3, and just missed out on a prize at Grade 2 - in the very hot conditions in Bathgate on 30th of May. The band however did take the prize for the smartest band on parade, and once again the band would like to give a big thank you to the Kilt Centre (http://www.thekiltcentre.com/). The band are looking forward to playing at Shotts this saturday, they can be seen in the moarning playing in the Chieftains and in Grade 3 and 2 competitions in the afternoon.

Linlithgow and District Pipe Band took 4th place at the Scottish Championships at Dumbarton on saturday the 16th of May. The Pipe major and Drum sgt were plaeased with the result and efforts of the band members. The drum crops also did well taking second place in the championships. The bands next outing will be at Bathgate Highland Games on the 30th of May. Also the Band would like to thank Pipe Major Robert Mathieson and the Kilt Centre for the new kilts, jackets and waistcoats that they made for the Band. The Band has already had lots of compliments on how good the new tartan and uniforms look. Updated 19/05/09
The band took a first in piping and in drumming and also took first overall in grade 3, at their first competition in Pipe Major Ally Mclaughlan said "I am very pleased with the bands efforts at Dunbar in the extreme weather conditions. To take first for piping and drumming in our first outing was excellent and sets us up, hopefully, for a good run at Dumbarton." "Once again I would like to thank all the bands efforts and all the support given by our family ad friends."
The band will be playing at the Linlithgow Marches in June and also Fauldhouse Gala on the 13 June.
In 2009 Season the band will have all new kit and tartan. The Tartan currently has no name as the band will be looking for sponsors or good donations in the coming year, therefore the tartan could be named after a sponsor.
Linlithgow and District Pipe Band are extremely pleased to annouce it has a new Pipe Major and Leading Drummer for the 2009 season. Both positions were filled at the band AGM on Monday September 8th and the band is simply looking forward to competing again after only managing to attend 3 competitions due to lack of numbers in 2008.
Pipe Major Ally McLaughlan joins the band from The House of Edgar Shotts and Dykehead. Ally has played in Shotts for many years and brings with him 8 pipers to add to the existing pipers at Linlithgow.
Leading Drummer Colin MacKenzie. Colin has many years experience with several bands and his last registered band was the Grade 1 Dysart and Dundonald. Colin has also brought with him an entire drum corps.
If you are a piper or drummer of a Grade 3 standard with a desire to play in Grade 2 and considering a change of band or perhaps you're currently not playing, you are more than welcome to come for a listen and a chat with Ally and Colin.
With immediate effect the band will now practice in Whitburn Miners Welfare with closer access to the M8 motorway and practice is Monday evenings starting at 7:30pm. Any new potential player is welcome to come along:
The band would like to thank previous Pipe Major Logan Tannock for all his efforts, Logan has now resigned from the band and moved onto pastures new and we wish him all the very best for his future. We would also like to thank Callum Murdoch for all his efforts with the drum corps over the last year as well as Mick O'Neill for his teaching.
